Adelaide’s own charity 9 a side footy carnival.
The Kerslake foundation is proud to present this inaugural community event all in the name of charity and friendly AFL competition.
Our goal is to attract around 24 teams from all walks of life and spit them into multiple divisions for a round robin style tournament to be played over the day.
The multi division format is designed to encourage all skill levels, genders and age groups to take part and have a great day out, no matter the skill level.
The winning teams of this tournament receive an amount of prize money that can then be donated directly to their chosen charity with the remainder of the precedes put back into the foundation to support our worthy causes.
To keep the focus on the cause as we have done in the past couple of years for the ‘Mallee Football League Melanoma Awareness round’, we will have some caravans there conducting free skin spot checks.
With similar events in different sports across the nation, we believe that this event will become a successful, long term event which raises thousands for charity.
The Kerslake cup will have a focus on community involvement and spectator entertainment. Along with celebrity commentary, the Keslake cup will have some of SA’s finest food, drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic, DJ’s and live local bands.
There will also be a stack of kids entertainment lined up for the little ones in the form of jumping castles, face painting and heaps more… For those spectators looking to get a little more involved we will also hold a few smaller competitions like a longest kick and waterboy running race to win a donated prize. The home of the Kerslake cup will be Park 24 in the western park lands. – Corner of Sir Donald Bradman and West tce.
With plenty of room for spectators, 3 ovals for multiple games at the same time and close access to public transport, Tampawardli (Park 24) is the perfect spot for this event. The event will be held on the first Saturday of November 2018, right in the sweet spot between not too hot and not too cold.
